Our Top 5 'Belters'!

Wednesday 11th May 2016

After giving our setlist a good bashing through during this Spring season of gigs, we thought we'd compile our top 5 'absolute belters' that seem to be seeting the dance floors alight this year.

It's been a wonderful few months with some epic shows in some beautiful places, namely our latest one in Alderley Edge, where we blew the roof off a stylish barn wedding, so here's the songs that seem to be doing it:

1. Sam Smith - Stay With Me

Our slightly soft and soul version of this modern hit is tinted with a 'bit of what you like'. We keep it moving more than the original but retain that smooth feel, when it reached the Chorus, it's sure to kick the audience into their vocal warmup. Much needed to singalong with the rest of the set!

2. Oasis - Champagne Supernova

Opening our second set, this classic is a staunch reminder that Oasis are indeed the kings of melody. Only part way into the first verse are the audience well under-way with singing along, double that with our rather climatic ending and the listeners are ready for more!

3. Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive

Part way through our dance set, this number pops up and causes quite the stir. With Emma's strong and effortless pipes, this makes the perfect song for all those retro-lovers.

4. Marvin Gaye - Through the Grapevine

It comes as no surprise that a party, function and wedding band should select this as a strong song. However, The Fusion Dukes don't like doing things in a 'regular' fashion. We've welded a certain girth to this osng and turned it from a Motown standard into something of a groove-ridden rock anthem.

5. ABBA - Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

One of our personal favourites, the aforementioned song is one hell of a piece. From the down and dirty verse, to the infamous instrumental part, we like to kick this one in to stir up a bit of groove about the audience, and it certainly works!

So that's our top 5 'absolute belters' from our 2016 set. Want to hear them for yourself? Give us a call and we shall see you out there!

Yours, regally

The Fusion Dukes.
